Thursday night, the Homer Center School Board heard about an upcoming opportunity for some of their students to get some real-world experience in both website development and marketing.

During the report of the Homer City Parks and Rec Board, it was discussed that there was a need for some improvements and changes that need to be made to their website, and the opportunity for some new marketing opportunities.  Board member Michael Schmidt talked about the opportunity that would be given to students taking classes in marketing and web development.


While the web development students work on updating the website, the marketing students will help create a new brand image for the pool.

In other business, the board approved the district calendar for the 2021-2022 school year.  The first student day will be August 26 of 2021 and the final student day will be June 2, 2022.  The board also approved graduation ceremonies for the 2021 class to be held at Memorial Field on June 5th at 11:00 AM, with weather make up dates set for the evenings of June 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th.
