Update: February 5, 2021 (12:50AM ET): The OnePlus Nord is now receiving its third Oxygen OS 11 beta update. Although it brings a shorter changelog than the previous beta build, we do see numerous tweaks to the system and camera. A couple of Ambient Display and Clock app bugs have also been squashed.

Carbon-capture company Svante raises $75M to trap emissions at their source

Vancouver, B.C.-based Svante has closed a $75 million funding round. The company calls it “the largest private investment into point source carbon capture globally to date.”

Since launching in 2007, the Canadian company has developed a technology for trapping industrial carbon emissions where they’re released — such as facilities responsible for cement manufacturing, blue hydrogen production and natural gas boilers.

“Lowering the capital cost of the capture of the CO2 emitted in industrial production is critical to the world’s net-zero carbon goals required to stabilize the climate,” said Svante

Apple Ups DTK Mac Mini Return Credit to $500 After Developer Complaints

Prior to the release of the M1 Macs, Apple offered developers a $500 Developer Transition Kit (DTK) that included a Mac mini equipped with an A12Z Bionic chip first used in the iPad Pro, 16GB RAM, a 512GB SSD, two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and an HDMI 2.0 port.


The DTKs were available on a temporary basis, and earlier this week, Apple said that it would soon begin asking developers to return the Mac minis in exchange for a $200 credit.
